Mahabir Prasad Singh Foundation for Education and Research is registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. The society has also been registered u/s 12A, read with section 12AA (1)(B) of the Income Tax Act 1961. The society has been recognized under section 80G (5) (VI) of Income Tax Act, 1961. Foundation is a charitable society dedicated to the advancement of research in the frontier areas of science. It is being run with donations received from benevolent donors. The society has offered Scholarships and Travel Grant since the year 2002-03 to needy and deserving science, engineering and medical students pursuing their studies in any reputed institution in India.

Eligibility criteria

1. Students must be desiring to follow a course in an Indian institution
2. Students must have financial difficulty
3. Students must have excellent academic qualification
4. The students must be having all of their certificates and documents ready at the time of interview
5. Those students are eligible to apply who do not have the financial means to carry on with studies

Benefits of scholarship/Award

Rs. 3,000/- per month. Out station students who are called for an interview are paid to and fro second class train fare on the day of the interview itself.

Application Procedure

The students are advised to read the instructions carefully and download the application form from Website. They may send their applications 56 electronically but one completely filled-up form along with supporting/ required documents and a recent passport size photograph duly attested by Gazetted Officer should also be sent to the society’s address by ordinary post with two self-addressed envelopes. What is the selection procedure?

Candidates will be short listed on merit cum means basis by Selection Committee appointed by the Board of Governors. Decision of the Board will be final and undisputable. Short listed candidates will be required to produce certificates and testimonials in support of their claims at the society’s office at Delhi at their own expense. They will be informed about personal interview by post. No correspondence in this regard will be entertained under any circumstances.
