Probationary period : 2 (two) years
Educational qualification : A person who is appointed as an inspector under the Act shall be a person who has a degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences or Medicine with Specialization in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology from a University established in India by law (as per Rule No. 49 of Drug & Cosmetics Rules 1945). Provided that only those Inspectors:-
(i) Who have not less than 18 months experience in the Manufacture of atleast one of the substance specified in Schedule C, or
(ii) Who have not less than 18 months experience in testing of atleast one of the substances in Schedule C in a laboratory approved for this purpose by the licensing authority,
or
(iii) Who have gained experiences of not less than three years in the inspection of firms manufacturing any of the substances specified in Schedule C during the tenure of their services as Drugs Inspectors, shall be authorised to inspect the manufacture of the substances mentioned in Schedule C.

(a) Minimum age limit -21 years.
(b) Maximum Age Limit Resolution No.-29 dated 04.01.2021 The maximum age limit as per Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Official Language is as follows:-
Unreserved : 35 years
Backward Class/Extremely Backward Class : 37 years
Women (Unreserved/Backward Class/Very Backward Class : 38 years
Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes (Male & Female) : 40 years
Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) : 35 years
Examination Fee :-
(a) Examination fee will be charged through Payment Gateway through Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking/Wallet/Bharat QR/UPI. Information related to which is available on the Commission’s website www.jpsc.gov.in.
(b) Examination fee for Unreserved, Very Backward Class (Schedule-I) and Backward Class (Schedule-II) and Economically Weaker Citizens (EWS) category candidates is Rs.0-600 (six hundred) + bank charges only.
(c) Exemption in Examination Fee – The examination fee is Rs.0-150/- (one hundred and fifty) only for Scheduled Tribes, Tribal Tribes / Scheduled Caste candidates of Jharkhand State. In case candidates other than Scheduled Tribe/Scheduled Caste category of Jharkhand state submit examination fee at concessional rate, their application form will be canceled and their application form will not be accepted without payment of examination fee and will be cancelled. The examination fee will be non-refundable.
(d) Full exemption in examination fee is admissible to disabled candidates (corresponding disability of at least 40 per cent).
Prerequisites and instructions for filling the application form:-
(i) Application will be accepted through One Time Registration (OTR) System on Jharkhand Public Service Commission website jpsc.gov.in.
(il) Online application will be filled by the candidate himself. In case of entering any kind of wrong information, omission of information or partial information, the candidates themselves will be responsible for it. The commission reserves the right to take final decision on the candidate if any false or half-truth information is found.
(iii) Before filling the online application form, “How to Register for OTR” must be read on the Commission’s website jpsc.gov.in. For advertisement related information, help line of Commission can be contacted on Help Line No.-+919431301636, +919431301419 till the last date of submission of application from 10.00 am to 05:00 pm on working days.
(iv) Candidates shall ensure to scan and upload their clear colored (passport size) photograph and signature at the desired location through One Time Registration (OTR) System. The application will be rejected if the photograph and signature are not uploaded at the designated place.
(v) The application form should be filled in English capital letters (BLOCK LETTERS) except the signature on the application form.
(vi) The applicant shall write the spelling of father’s name in his name, which is written in the matriculation certificate/mark-sheet.
(vii) Date of Birth – Fill in the date, month and year indicated in the applicant’s matriculation certificate/mark sheet at the prescribed place in the application form.
(vii) E-mail Id entered in the online application. It will be the applicant’s responsibility to keep the Mobile Number and User Id and Password received secure. They will keep it safe till the publication of the final result. Candidates will enter their working Mobile Number, e-mail Id while filling online. Under no circumstances will any other person’s Mobile Number, e-mail Id be entered.
(ix) Commission shall not be liable for internet or banking disruption. So candidates will not wait for the last time and will complete all the process before that.
(x) The Commission shall not be liable for any Unsuccessful Payment/Transaction Status Failure in online payment. Candidates will not be given extra time for correction.
(xi) After the candidate submits the last filled online application at the same time again. After logging in, download the filled application from the “Download Filled Application Section” available on the dashboard and print two copies for sure. All certificates/documents related to advertisement and mentioned in the application, bank receipt of examination fee payment must be preserved.
(xii) It is mandatory to present all the certificates mentioned in the application form i.e. educational certificate marks, experience certificate and caste and local resident certificate etc. at the time of record verification. The Commission shall be free to take a decision regarding the eligibility of the candidates who do not comply with the said instructions.
(xiii) Applicants shall ensure that all required certificates are available with them in original at the time of application.
(xiv) Based on the information given by the candidate in the Online Application, his/her candidature will be ensured. Candidates must fill the Online Application properly as per the provisions and instructions contained in the advertisement. Once the entry is made in the Online Application, no opportunity will be given for any kind of change/correction of errors.
(xv) In case the applicant is in Government service, he shall enter the statement of No Objection Certificate issued by the Controlling Officer in the Online Application or in case the No Objection Certificate (NOC) is not issued at that time, the applicant shall confirm the information regarding Applied for NOC in the online application and submit the original copy of the dedicated application at the time of Document Verification.

(xvii) If any wrong information or concealment of facts is found by the applicant in the information given in his application and during verification at any stage, the Commission shall be free to cancel the candidature of such applicants.
(xviii) The Commission reserves the right to postpone or cancel the selection process at any time without assigning any reason.
(xix) Candidates shall ensure to submit the printed self-signed copy of the online application as per condition-11 (xx) clear and legible self-attested copies of all the required certificates by registered post / speed post and by hand at the address of the Commission office to the Controller of Examinations, Jharkhand Public Service Commission, Circular Road, Ranchi, 834001 by the prescribed date-05.03.2026 at 05:00 PM. Advertisement number-12/2025 and name of the post-Drug Inspector, OTR No….. must be written in bold letters on the hard copy envelope. Will upload the desired document in OTR along with submitting the hard copy. Applications sent through any other medium will not be accepted. Applications received after the last date will be rejected and the Commission will not be responsible for the same.

(xx) At the time of record verification for interview, it will be mandatory to submit self-attested copies along with originals of all the following required certificates as per the claims made in the online application :-
(i) Photocopy of matric certificate and mark sheet.
(ii) Photocopy of intermediate certificate and mark sheet.
(iii) Degree in Medical Science or Microbiology with specialization in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Science or Clinical Pharmacology from a university established by law in India.
(A degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences or Medicine with Specialization in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology)
(IV) Photocopy of experience certificate as per clause-05 of the experience advertisement
(V) Photocopy of caste certificate (where applicable).
(VI) Photocopy of local resident certificate (where applicable).
Note:
Submission of local resident certificate is mandatory for all categories of women and persons with disabilities for horizontal reservation.
(VII) Disability certificate issued by Medical Board (where applicable).
(VIII) Age Certificate (for Age Relaxation to Permanent Servants of Jharkhand Government)
(xoxi) The decision of the Commission regarding their candidature shall be final in case all required original certificates are not produced as per condition-11 (xx) above at the time of record verification for interview.
