The S&T department was created on March, 1983. Promotion of renewable energy programmes was one of the thrust area and objective of the deptt. and most of the resources were concentrated in this direction. In 1995, State Govt. created new Department of Non Conventional Energy Sources by bifurcating the S&T Deptt. Accordingly, priority areas of Deptt were reframed. In order to attract talented and meritorious students, HSCST offers research fellowships in science subjects. The fellowship will include full time research work leading to Ph. D. degree in the relevant subject areas from any of the Institution/ University in Haryana.

Eligibility criteria

  1. Sc. or equivalent degree in Life Science, Physical Science, Chemical Science, Earth, Mathematical Science, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences subjects areas with minimum 55% marks and applicants should have opted for CSIR-JRF NET and qualified eligibility test for Lecturership-NET on joint CSIR-UGC Test for JRF LS (NET).

Benefits of scholarship/Award

Rs 12,000/- per month for JRF for 2 years, and Rs. 14,000/- per month for SRF for the 3rd and subsequent year subject to terms and conditions. Contingency Grant : Rs. 20,000/- per annum to the University/ Institution.

What about Age Limit?

28 years as on 1st January , which is relaxed up to 5 years in case of SC/ST, Women, Physically Handicapped and OBC applicants.

Terms and Conditions

Candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by CSIR. Candidates who opt for CSIR-JRF & have at least qualified CSIR-LS NET are selected on the basis of their performance in NET to carry out their Ph.D work in any of the Universities/Institutions in Haryana.
