Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGn) invites applications for a Project Associate – I position in Computer Science and Engineering.
Project Title : Scalable Detection of Brick Kilns from Low-Resolution Satellite Imagery for Environmental Compliance
Description : Applications are invited for Project Associate – I position for a Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) sponsored project at the intersection of machine learning, computer vision, and Earth observation.
Mandatory Qualifications : Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / Master’s degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / BVSc / B.Pharm / Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine, from a recognized University or equivalent.
Desired Qualifications:
1. Expertise in machine learning, data processing and analysis.
2. Prior experience in Python platforms such as Anaconda, and Python notebooks along with basic versioning system (Git & Github) knowledge.
3. Implementation experience of at least one ML project.
4. Evidence of excellent Python coding skills.
5. Experience of writing research papers.
6. Domain expertise in remote sensing is an added bonus.
Remuneration :
i) Rs. 37,000/- + HRA to scholars who are selected through: (a) National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE, or (b) A selection process through national-level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
(ii) Rs. 30,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.
