Essential Qualification:
Master’s degree in any areas of Life Sciences or Pharmacy/ Pharmacology with first class or equivalent (in terms of Grades or marks) at the preceding degree and excellent academic record throughout.
And
Ph.D. in any area of Life Sciences/Pharmacy/Pharmacology/ Pharmaceuticals.
Essential Experience:
Ten years post-Ph.D., of which at least five years at the level of Assistant Professor-II/Scientist-C level (7th CPC Pay level 11) or higher with excellent research record as evidenced by patents and/or publications in peer-reviewed journals. Additionally, the candidate must have at least one student awarded Ph.D. under
their principal guide-ship.
Desirable:
At least 10 refereed journal papers as first/corresponding author, out of which at least 2 should have been published in the last 2 years.
Completed at least one sponsored R&D or consulting project as a PI or two sponsored R&D or consulting projects as a coPI.
Teaching basic and advanced courses, research experience in industrial and/or professional experience in a reputed organization.
Experience in guiding the project work/dissertation of PG / Research Students or supervising R&D projects in industry.
Published work in reputed journals/Conferences, patents filed/obtained, copyrights, books and their impact and relevance to Data Science.
Post-Ph.D. experience working in Sericulture/ Pharmacy/Pharmacology/ Pharmaceuticals/ Life Sciences. Evidence of leadership and proven record of having sponsored research projects, guiding PhD students, teamwork, and participation in professional society’s activities.
General Information:

3. The postdoctoral experience will be counted from the date of awarding PhD degree certificate (provisional).
4. Letters of Recommendations: Applications for all the above posts must be supported by three letters of recommendation, one preferably from the Ph.D. supervisor, to be submitted confidentially to the Director of the Institute (dir.iasst@nic.in).
5. A summary note (maximum 1000 words) on the research work published by the candidate in the relevant fields after completing the Ph.D. The candidate should highlight the significant works done, output, and achievements from these works for the said period in terms of completed projects, papers
published, IPR/Patents obtained, technology generated/commercialized, the contribution made towards infrastructure development, programme/project framing, and fund mobilization, participation in research and teaching activities and linkages, etc.
6. A research programme and work plan on the area (maximum 2000 words) the candidate would like to
pursue being in the position. The information may include new, innovative and original research projects/ideas/thrust areas of work he/she proposes to introduce/conduct, facilities proposed to be developed, linkages and collaboration proposed with other research units and departments of IASST, as well as the expected outcome from these approaches. While formulating the plan, the Institute’s past and present achievements, development, and outcome may be reviewed, and critical gaps may be identified. The Institute’s website (www.iasst.gov.in), annual reports, etc., may be consulted for developing the plan.
7. Candidates are urged to provide details of their academic accomplishments (certificates, testimonials,
awards/honours/research achievements, citation index of publications). Candidates are advised not to enclose copies of papers that have been submitted but have not been accepted or published.
8. Foreign nationals who are “Persons of Indian Origin” (PIO) or overseas citizens of India (OCI), in whose case, if selected, permission will be sought from the government of India before they can join the Institute.
9. The Institute encourages faculty interaction with industry, other research, and professional institutions.
Consultancy is encouraged at IASST, and liberal consultancy policies are in practice.
10. Facilities for research and development activities exist in all the Departments. These are being continuously modernized with modern equipment and services. Good facilities also exist for computing. The Institute has a well-stocked library.
11. A technology business incubators hosted by the Institute, called the BioNest-IASST and ISVEC, promote technology-based entrepreneurship by faculty.
12. Persons employed in Government/Semi-Government organizations or Educational Institutions must
apply through proper channels and provide a No Objection Certificate while applying, without which application will not be considered.
13. The Institute reserves the right to fill out or not to fill out any or all the posts advertised. The prescribed
essential qualifications are the minimum, and mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for an interview. Where the number of applications received in response to the advertisement is large, the Institute, at its discretion, may restrict the number of candidates to be called for the interview to a reasonable limit based on qualifications/experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement after a screening process through a duly constituted committee.
14. A list of candidates short-listed and not short-listed for personal interviews shall be notified on the
Institute website. No correspondence will be entertained from candidates regarding the conduct and result of the interview and reasons for not being called for an interview.
15. No TA/DA will be provided to appear in the interview.
16. Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidates.
17. The Institute reserves the right to alter/insert any corrections/additions in the advertisement/website in
