Dr. K.S. Krishnan Research Associateship (KSKRA) by Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS) Government of India
Research Associates selected under the prestigious KSKRA Programme are given an opportunity to work on R&D Programmes of national importance relevant to the DAE mandate in one of the following advanced research centres of the Department:
- Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai
- Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam
- Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT), Indore
- Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre (VECC), Kolkata
- Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB), Mumbai
Anytime during the second year of Associateship, subject to satisfactory performance, the KSKRAs will be absorbed in one of the above given R&D units of DAE & appointed in the grade of Scientific Officer/Engineer-D/E. The associateships are available in all branches of Engineering, chemical sciences, physical sciences and biosciences. Up to 20 KSKRA are selected every year.

For Engineers: Ph. D degree in Engineering (Those who have submitted thesis for Ph. D may also apply) or Master’s degree in Engineering (M.Tech/M.E./M.S.) with a minimum of 2 years R&D experience after obtaining M.Tech./M.E./M.S. Degree.
For Scientists: Ph.D degree in Science (Those who have submitted thesis for Ph. D may also apply).
All candidates must have a First Class at either Master’s or Bachelor’s level.
Benefits of scholarship/Award
Rs. 26,000/- per month + benefits – Ph. D. Degree holders.
Rs. 16,000/- per month – others.
Rs. 10,000/- per month as Educational Material Allowance, Associates will be provided Hostel accommodation, medical and leave benefits during the Associateship.
Application Procedure
Applicants are required to fill KSKRA application form online at the website www.daebrns.gov.in. Hard copy of duly filled KSKRA form, as downloaded after online submission, should be sent by SPPED POST to “Deputy Establishment Officer (DEO), Recruitment-IV, HBNI Building Training School Complex, Anushaktinagar, Mumbai 400 094”. Another hard copy should be preserved as the candidate may be asked to reproduce it at the time of interview.
Documents Required
Before initiating the process of online filling the online application form, soft copy of the following documents need to be kept handy for uploading to the website:
All degree certificates and mark sheets starting with the eligibility qualification (for example Ph.D, MTech & BTech or PhD, MSc, BSc) certificates.
i. GATE /NET: Score, Subject and Year (optional).
ii. Proof of date of birth e.g. CBSE/ HSC/ SSC/ Matriculation certificate.
iii. SC/ ST/ OBC/ Physically Handicapped/ DODPKIA certificate, if applicable, as per the prescribed format.
iv. Passport size photograph
v. Scanned copy of the challan marked as ‘Institute’s copy’ indicating payment of Rs. 500/- (Rupees five hundred) as application processing fee in any branch of the State Bank of India. Candidates belonging to SC/ST, dependents of defense service personnel killed in action, persons with physical disability and women candidates are exempted from payment of this fee. Persons with physical disability should produce necessary certificate from Government Hospital/Medical Board in support of their claim.
vi. Person working under the Central/ State Government/ Public Sector Undertakings should submit their application through proper channel.
