VALIDATION OF UV INSTRUMENT :-

Performance test

1. Wavelength accuracy :-

Standard :- 4% holmium oxide in 10%                            perchloric acid.

Specification :- NMT _+ 1 nm in 200-                                      400nm.                                                             NMT _+ 3 nm in 400-                                    600nm.

2. Stray light :-

Standard :- 1.2% w/v potassium chloride   solution.

Specification :- Absorbance at 200nm should be more than 2.

3. Resolution

Standard :- 0.02 % v/v toluene in hexane solution.

Specification :- The ratio of the absorbance at λmax (269nm) and Absorbance at λmax(266nm) should be greater than 1.5

4. Photo metrics accuracy :-

Standard :- potassium dichromate solution in KOH.

5. Cell thickness tolerance :-

Standard :- for 1 cm

Specification :- Tolerance allowed is 0.005 cm.
