c.) HUMANS ARE THE ONLY ONE HOST OF SALMONELLA TYPHI, WHICH IS SHED IN THE FECES , URINE , VOMITUS AND ORAL SECRETION BY ACUTELY ILL PERSON.

d.) SALMONELLA INVADE NON – PHAGOCYTOLIC INTESTINAL EPITHELIAL CELLS AS WELL AS TISSUE MACROPHAGES.

E.] SYMPTOMS: 

FIRST WEEK: BACTERAEMIA [PRESENCE OF BACTERIA IN BLOOD] WITH FEVER AND CHILL.

SECOND WEEK: ABDOMINAL PAIN , PROSTRATION [PHYSICALLY WEAK] AND WIDESPREAD RETICULOENDOTHILIAL INVLOVEMENT WITH RASH.

THIRD WEEK: HEMORRHAGE , ULCERATION OF PEYER’S PATCHES WITH INTESTINAL BLEEDING AND SHOCK.

F.] TREATMENT: ANTIBIOTIC THERAPY IS EFFECTIVE. ANTIBIOTICS ARE PRESCRIBED LIKE

  • CIPROFLOXACIN,
  • AZITHROMYSIN
