Description  :

The theme of this IBRO-APRC Chandigarh Associate School is translational neuroscience. Translational neuroscience is the need of the hour that specifically revolves around translation of rich heritage of basic knowledge of neuroscience, neuropharmacology, neuropathogenesis, nanoscience, and neuroengineering into a trajectory that will ultimately convert into real time therapeutics to cater large population suffering from neurological problems throughout the globe.

Description:

Translational Neuroscience applies findings from fundamental laboratory research relating to brain structure and function to development of new therapies for neurodegenerative, neuropsychiatric and neurodevelopmental diseases. These diseases are a huge economic burden to society and a cause of much suffering to patients and carers alike. Translational neuroscience is a new and rapidly advancing area of biomedical research with massive therapeutic and commercial potential.
The Pharmacology Department at University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Panjab University is known for its strong base in neuroscience and behavioral pharmacology in India. This department wishes to spread this knowledge and train the personnel in the field of translational neuroscience by theoretical lectures and some practical demonstrations with specific focus on neurological, neuropsychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders. Scientific deliberations and open discussions will be organized on Ethical practices in preclinical/clinical research as well as in publishing.
